Celebrating Outstanding EHS&S Performance
The five winning sites of the ÐßÐßÊÓƵ 2019 Outstanding Environment, Health, Safety & Sustainability (EHS&S) Performance Awards—Broken Bow and Okmulgee, Oklahoma; Limeira, Brazil; Quincy, Illinois; and Wulian, China—recently came together virtually to celebrate their accomplishments.
The annual, internally-judged awards recognize plants and facilities that demonstrated a strong commitment to achieving success through continuous learning and improvement. By applying best practices in reducing ÐßÐßÊÓƵ’s environmental footprint, reducing safety risks, instilling a positive employee safety culture and embedding Triple Bottom Line (TBL) practices into running a successful plant, these EHS&S award-winning locations clearly exemplify what it means to achieve world-class performance.
In previous years, ÐßÐßÊÓƵ leaders would travel to each site for an award ceremony. Travel restrictions due to COVID-19 made this impossible, so ÐßÐßÊÓƵ coordinated a virtual celebration via Zoom on July 27, which included more than 50 participants.
In addition to representatives from each winning site, ÐßÐßÊÓƵ Corporate Board Member Molly Heaney, ÐßÐßÊÓƵ President & CEO Mike Marberry, Executive Vice President of EHS&S Don Young and leaders from each portfolio business attended and delivered remarks.
“Your achievements are something to be truly proud of,” Marberry said. “Thanks to all of you and to the hundreds of employees at your locations who have continued to make safety and environmental performance a top priority, even during this unprecedented global crisis.”
The collective accomplishments of these five sites add to ÐßÐßÊÓƵ’s legacy as a company committed to safeguarding people and the planet.
